I’ve owned this book for many years. I developed my swing from this book. I
had lessons that were counter to this book. (the modern swing) Those
lessons ruined Golf for me. about two years ago I pulled out the book and
got back to work. I’ll never be amazing but, I love this game again. You
continue to inspire me and my efforts. Thank you.

+frank hoxsey You can be as amazing as you’d like to be, Frank! I’ve
received so many messages from folks that are breaking new barriers every
day! My original goal was to be able to break 80, and now I’ve shot 70
      twice!

  2. toddms41 says:

I really liked how Hogan talked about watching amateur golfers exerting all
this energy and getting nothing in return. That’s me, that’s how I swing!
    Hopefully not 4 ever.

    • myswingevolution says:

+toddms41 You have to learn to use your lower body more than your upper
body! It’s where effortless power comes from.

How truly wonderful your comments are which hit home to me again. I am now
77 years of age, and I remember in the 50’staking Mr. Hogan’s book with me
to the practice range. I left the pages open one aspect of his swing I was
working on.I sincerely believe there really has been no better teacher or
book for most golfers to read and to brush up on. Thank you again for your
humble attitude and giving credit to the book and congratulations to you
for adopting his methods into your swing which now looks most
professional. Thank you again for your perseverance also.

    • myswingevolution says:

+rod mayor It’s my honor to have discovered such a treasure that Mr. Hogan
left us. Indeed, the game has taken on such a degree of enjoyment I would
have have never thought it was possible had I not picked up Ben Hogan’s 5
Lessons. It’s a game that takes me back to my youth and will take me
forward for the rest of my life. Cheers and best to you, Rod.

the highest score I ever shot was 110 . That was about 5 years ago. I
thought that golf instruction would give me a better swing. $2,000 worth of
lessons gave me a major shank and a major slice. I quit playing golf for
about a year. I watched many different videos on YouTube trying to
straighten out my swing it was just so confusing everything just went
horribly wrong. but I can’t stay away from the course and I’ve decided
couple weeks ago to completely revamp my swing. Start over from the ground
up.. Cristo I’ve watched your channel for a while and I went and picked up
Ben Hogan’s book and I’m going to build my new golf swing following his
    lessons and your videos.

  5. fullwerkes says:

Ben Hogan and yourself Christo are the reason why I love the game of golf.
The pursuit to become a good golfer learning from the best ball striker to
    ever play the game? Perfect.

    • myswingevolution says:

+fullwerkes We should do a Skype interview sometime soon! I appreciate the
      support. How’s your game lately?

    • fullwerkes says:

+myswingevolution Definitely Christo we should catch up! Ball striking is
excellent, scoring is not so good but thats starting to change now. I
broken into single figures for the most part of the first half of the year
then it went a little wayward.

  6. Diego Diaz says:

Yeah, yet Ben Hogan doesn’t or shall I say didn’t swing it as he stated in
    the book.

    • myswingevolution says:

+Diego Diaz I used to think that but I think he did mostly what he talked
about in his book now. We all have different swings for different shots.
The biggest thing that I see differently is keeping the elbows stuck
together and against the body at all times. He certainly didn’t do that!

    • garret washburn says:

+Diego Diaz the book is talking about everything he felt and felt like he
was implementing in his golf swing. if i felt all of the same moves he
felt, the swing would still look different because thats golf, As long as
you have the right feelings in your golf swing then you are never wrong.
everyones golf swing will be different and everyone will be at different
skill levels but if you can put more enjoyment in the game while helping
either little or a lot then mission accomplished and it seems like through
the book that was his mission.

  7. jamesniblick says:

One fundamental problem is that the selling of golf books and lessons and
equipment is a huge industry. It preys and plays on the suggestive mind of
almost every golfer. Most of the industry of golf believes that they will
not sell magazines or books or lessons or equipment unless they tell people
that they have something that is new and revolutionary. All you have to do
is look at the titles of golf books that were written particularly from the
1970’s until now. I challenge anyone to take just one full year of any one
major golf magazine and not find a ton of contradictory instructional
    information.

    • myswingevolution says:

+jamesniblick I bought every magazine and tried every tip for years. It was
very destructive. I was told later that the goal of golf magazines is to
sell clubs, not make you better so it’s best if you don’t improve and keep
      buying clubs.

  8. Stephane Gauthier says:

wow. I also had to limit my caffeine intake before a round because my swing
was so fickle… I’m not the only “nut” at least. :-P

  9. TheGolfdaily says:

    Great vid man!

  10. Danny O'neal says:

I just got back into golf after a 6 year hiatus about 5 months ago. First
thing I did was buy Mr. Hogan’s book for .99 cents used off of amazon.
Needless to say it’s been a revelation. My ball striking is so much better
it’s incredible. I’ve developed effortless power in my swing. Thanks to
this great book and your videos Christo i’m now shooting in the high 70s
and getting better every day. Thank you to Mr. Hogan and Christo for
    helping me so much. -Danny.

  11. MarcHill83 says:

I’m waiting for someone to say Amen and a collection plate being passed.
Jk. Well said Christo and that book is amazing.

  12. Sam Tamberelli says:

I have really enjoyed watching you improve and it has inspired me to do the
same. I have struggled big time in the last few years but positive results
from my practice sessions have kept me motivated to improve. Its in me
somewhere, I just need to work out the kinks. Keep it up!

  13. Sean Sack says:

Love your work Christo. As a fellow proponent of the Hogan method I highly
recommend you check out a book called “The Natural Golf Swing” by the
Canadian great George Knudson. It was said that Knudson knew Hogan’s swing
better than Hogan and the two were good friends. It is the greatest
instructional book I have ever read. Keep up the amazing work.

  14. FairwayJack says:

what’s your take on Leadbetter’s Hogan swing book? ..I read it years ago
and I remember his repeated theme that Hogan’s swing was not for the
average golfer who commonly slices and swings over the top …. it was more
for the relatively rarer person who hooks the ball.

  15. Patrick Chan says:

Hi Christo, thanks for this video. I am revisiting this book again after
many many years. Your swing evolution has been very impressive and your
videos are very informative. Please keep up the good works !

  16. Maqqa says:

Coach and commentators describe what they see. Hogan understands the
bio-mechanics. I am a huge fan of this book.

  17. michael mangnanti says:

Bought the book audio version. Amazing. It works! Better still….you can
    correct knowing the correct way.
