Learn Ben Hogans Secret

Mark uses great illustrations of Ben Hogan to explain what is happening during the downswing all the way through impact.

Milton , I retread what you were saying about Moe. If you do some more
research you will find there was a gentleman named Llyod Tucker who had a
great deal to do with Moe,s developement. You sound like a guy that likes
to get his facts somewhat straight, those of us that we’re lucky enough to
grow up around Moe know much that has not yet been told. You might want to
also research Gus Maue, nick Weslock , Mike Marts.

  2. Mark Evershed says:

Herbert. Please take the time to watch all my clips and then list what you
disagree with and please add what the end negative ball flight would be if
you did what I am saying.
I would then be happy to answer you.
    Cheers
    Mark.
P.s Do you own any of my full length DVD,s or is your comment based upon 1
    clip.

Hope your getting lots of work even in this nice Canadian weather we’re
having. Getting positive feedback from your visit with us. Again thank you
    for your time.

I am seeking total understanding of your lagnload method as I feel it is
all that I have been looking for in a swing. I have been through your vimeo
faults and fixes video a couple times now. I love the video. I think it is
one of the best videos you’ve done. It did generate some questions.

  5. Mark Cullen says:

you should talk about his life magazine article on his secret where he says
he rotates his hands back and rotates his hands over. He learned it from
old scottish pros I can show you a copy Remember when he says he wished
    he had 3 right hands

    • BLACKCROW WALKING says:

+Hickory Trickory Kinectic schmetic, did you ever hear of Nicklaus or Hogan
      talking such crap?

    • Hickory Trickory says:

Your naivety is priceless,go read any Nicklaus instruction book at he talks
about kinetic linking,it is fundamentally how the golf swing works. Hogan
is the very guy who discovered kinetic linking ! my my I cannot believe
your ignorance about the swing despite your claims to the contrary. Hogan
called it The Power Accumulator, I suggest you read his book The 5 Lessons.

    • BLACKCROW WALKING says:

+Hickory Trickory Whatever man, anytime you want to test your skills
against me at my home course, bring it on. I will show you how the game is
      played.

    • Hickory Trickory says:

With that retort you sound like a 15 year old kid. Anyway you have made it
clear that despite 50 years in this game you fundamentally do not know how
      the swing works. Good Day.

  6. Mark Evershed says:

Thanks. Does say to roll the right hand over, or roll the right hand.
I love the idea of 3 right hands, if educated ,the use of the right hand is
    your best friend.

There is a difference between roll & roll over.
    Cheers

  7. Mark Evershed says:

    Thanks Brendon.
    I except your opinion.
    Cheers
    Mark.

  8. Brendan O'connel says:

I have studied your clips here on Youtube and despite your claims I find
you are very naive when it comes to proven scientific facts. I do wish you
Golf Teachers would get some kind of scientific education in your training
programmes when yous train with the PGA of Canada. I do see many new young
Pros are busy learning how Trackman works and are understanding the
knowledge that it is bringing to golf. I see this as a big step forward for
Teachers to better understand their craft.

    • Mark Evershed says:

      Thanks Brendan
      Enjoy your day.
      Mark.

No. Brendan you didn’t study my clips. What you do is form an opinion and
then right your non reasearched crap around. You find no need to check out
credentials, everyone that sees things different than you in your mind is
      wrong.
Add something constructive, tell us all were I am wrong and what the
negative effect will be on the ball,
Stop hiding behind track man , and because someone else says something
different than me does not make me wrong.
Brendan, step up,tells us who you are, what your credentials are to judge
      others.

    • Brendan O'connel says:

+Mark Evershed No,it does make you wrong, for many years Teachers have been
teaching the ball flight laws wrongly. Thanks to science and Trackman your
profession has increased its knowledge with fact based evidence. The PGA of
America have stated they were wrong and that Trackman has improved
knowledge. Its time for you teachers to stop thinking yous are mystics and
know secret magical things, its science that governs the world and golf. For
you to claim that the great Ben Hogan started down with his hands is just
wrong totally wrong, science has proven that Hogan was 100% correct when he
stated that he DID NOT START DOWN WITH HIS HANDS. Time for you to embrace
      science Mr Evershed,

  9. Mark Evershed says:

The first thing Tom Tomesello taught me was to educate the hands. He
avoided using the term roll over, the hands roll and then go up. This
lesson should be a chapter not a quick sentence.
    Cheers
    M

  10. Bergen08 says:

I agree with much that has been written in previous posts. This guy really
does not understand Hogan or the biomechanics of the golf swing. The
loading of the swing in kinetic sequence requires the mass of the body to
move first not the hands. The hands actually do little.

  11. Ed Floody says:

The impact picture or “post impact” as you describe the picture is in
agreement with Hogans ball position diagram. Ball is played just inside the
left heel for all shots. Thus his head would be back.

  12. Diamnzpuck says:

Heres the real Hogan…. “If you reverse everything you think you should do
you will come as close as to a perfect swing as possible”…If You reverse
everything this guy says you will master Hogans move and make it your own.

  13. Thomas Fraser says:

Way to wordy. What is your handicap? Better then Hogan’s was? I think not.
Read the book and am happy with my swing based on much of the information
contained in Hogan’s book. Try as you may you cannot improve perfection.

  14. Randall Kurzman says:

Thanks Mark for your thoughtful presentation. That picture definitely
appears to illustrate Mr. Hogan has not gotten to the ball yet. If what you
are saying is true, they should have showed the ball in motion the same way
they showed the clubs’ movement. According to Jack Nicklaus, Jack liked to
have the ball more off the (front) left foots’ heel which supports the
notion Mr. Hogan has not gotten to the ball yet. Per page 125 of his book,
Hogan does change the relative position of the ball by moving from the
driver with wider more closed stance, to the mid and short irons gradually
opening the stance has his feet got closer together so the ball would
appear further back in his stance depending on the angle you were viewing
from but in reality the left foot and position of he ball is illustrated to
stay the same. Only the right foot moves.

  15. Randall Kurzman says:

Corrected spelling . . . Thanks Mark for your thoughtful presentation. That

    • Lionel M O P says:

No, Please look at it again, Hogan has already hit the ball and if not he
would have hit it on upswing.

  16. DASH1ful says:

write the theme tune and sing the theme tune. that is the real secret

  17. MrBrokentowels says:

It’s called counter balance. Like a batter about to explode.

  18. Acharya Vedshrami says:

Mark – I am facinated by Mr. Ben Hogan’s book and will work for rest of my
life to learn his teachings. I like your first segment could not find the
second. found third and fourth. Could you put them in series in a new
playlist please so it would be easy for people. Thanks I really appreciate
    your help

  19. vinson shinabery says:

Cannot accept percentage of components. It is against the scientific
research. Hands transmit power, power is from the legs and hips and pivot.
More power goes through the hands, but not generated by the hands

  20. rocketlanchur flips says:

Totally wrong information . Who is this guy. This video should be banned .
Downswing starts from left hip pivot which brings the club to waist height.
Then you fire which is called ” the late hit or delayed release”.
Mr Ben hogan has mentioned all this in his book.
Guys do your research on the delayed release.
    Best of Luck!!
